Connect securely with healthcare providers through coreplus's integrated messaging hub
If you've had this thought, you're not alone. Over the years, GPs have widely adopted secure messaging services, while adoption rates among other healthcare providers have remained relatively lower.
This disparity likely stems from several factors: more developed health informatics systems for GPs, established clinical risk frameworks, and financial incentives that encourage secure messaging software adoption. Another factor may be limited awareness among healthcare providers about the importance of secure communication and the available solutions.
With the Privacy Act 1988 updates regarding healthcare information and provider obligations, plus the widespread adoption of secure messaging systems by GPs, it's now crucial for Allied Health practitioners to securely communicate with GPs, Specialists, and Hospitals using compatible electronic systems.
Historically, the main obstacle has been platform compatibility. Having one secure message software, such as Argus/HealthConnex, meant you could only share messages with other users of the same platform. To communicate with HealthLink users, you'd need a separate HealthLink subscription, and the same applied for MedicalObjects and other platforms.
This led to multiple software subscriptions, various programs installed on your computer, and systems that weren't integrated with your practice management software. The result? Extra costs, increased complexity, and the need to purchase expensive GP software systems to incorporate these tools into your workflow.
coreplus has overcome this key barrier by providing access to both HealthLink and HealthConnex (Argus) without requiring additional software installation or separate subscriptions.
coreplus' Secure Message Delivery (SMD) Hub offers Allied Health providers one of the most effective ways to communicate with GPs and other health practitioners about shared clients/patients.
This advancement supports "Interoperability" - a key objective of the Australian Government as outlined in the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) standards and guidelines.
Since our groundbreaking 2015 release of the SMD Hub, we've collaborated with multiple SMD vendors connected to various Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Our goal has been to develop a flexible environment that allows providers to focus on clinical workflows while receiving eReferrals from GPs.
Our commitment to innovation continues as we develop new features aligned with the Australian Digital Health Agency's (ADHA) Working Group standards. This working group includes major health software providers, ADHA representatives, and end-users from across the Australian healthcare industry.
Watch this space for upcoming announcements about expanded referral partnerships via secure message networks.
coreplus remains dedicated to developing innovative features that help you 'practice happy.' With our system, you can be confident you're using a future-proof Practice Management System that enables safe information sharing while maintaining compliance with Australian Privacy Laws, Digital Health regulations, and industry standards.
